Ride to Baguio
List of riders : 1. King - Shogun Best 125 SX 2. Jonbaq - Smash 110 3. Allan X Lacdao - Raider 150 4. Noelnash - Shogun R super Stock 5. Rey - Sym Jet 100 (guest ni Allan) 6. Makoy - Suzuki Bandit 250 (yung dating MC ni bien)
Route: Shell C5-EDSA-Mc Arthur Hiway-Pampanga-Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union-Marcos Hiway-Baguio
Jan 14, 3:00 AM. - depart from Shell C5. Arrive in Baguio 1 pm. We went ahead after a brief gas and smoke stop. Along Mac Arthur Hiway, near Calumpit, naiwan si makoy at si jonbaq, while Allan and noelnash were at the head of the group. Kaya pala na-flat si jonbaq. Luckily there was an open vulcanizing shop at 5 am kaya naayos naman agad. We continued our adventure making brief stops at Pampanga and Tarlac for Gas and smoke breaks. Sarap Lamig. Para kang wala sa pinas. Nagcheck-in, kumain at natulog.
Jan 15 7:30 AM - Ride to Highest Point in the Philippine Hi-way System (52 kms of pure fun)
Route: Baguio-La Trinidad-Halsema Hiway-Saddle-Atok,Benguet-Sabangan-Highest Point
After a very good sleep due to the centralized aircon in Baguio, we awoke refreshed and raring to go for more twisties and a lot of mountain views. Left at 7am in Pacdal with the BMC riders. Met the other riders (Bogchi, BSRC) at Caltex near the Victory Liner Bus Depot and OFF we go. It was a moderate speed ride up to the Capitol of Benguet at La Trinidad. We went past the capitol and the fun started. Twisties galore and a never ending vista of mountain views. The visibility during the morning and that day was excellent. The mountains as far away as 10km were visible and there was a very light cloud cover, a slight wind and cold temperature (18 degC). The wind temperature and MC gave a cold feeling all over your hands especially if you were not wearing gloves. But all was discomfort was forgotten once you were conquering the twisties and looking at the mountains. We reach km 21 of the Saddle to eat breakfast at the 66th Infantry Guerilla Force Restaurant. And what else would you have other than the 66th Infantry Rice - Fried Chicken and Pork with chopsuey and a cup of Mountain Red Rice. While we were about to eat a second group of riders arrive. They were the BB, AK and Adventurer riders to have a quickie ride up to Saddle. After we finish the hearty meal, Off we go again with more twisties and fun. We even passed thru a half tunnel that had the road under an overhang carved out of solid rock occupying more than half of the top of the roadway. Whew. We travel for a total of 52 km with about 80 % of twisties. Mas marami kaysa sa Real. At smooth ang daan all the way. Upon arrival at the Highest Point, picture picture picture na at pahinga. On the way back, we gas up at the Highest Gas Station in the Philippine Hiway System at Sabangan, Atok, Benguet. Then PSRC Boys (Allan, King, Jonbaq & Noelnash) went ahead of the main group due to' urgent' shopping needs in Baguio and to travel at a faster rate. **wink**wink**wink**. Attack the curves!! We arrive back in Baguio at 1230 noon to start shopping for pasalubong. Checkout, Eat Lunch, and we return to Manila with all memories full, pictures galore and wanting to go back to the Highest point again. We depart Baguio at 330pm and most arrive at our homes at 1 AM.
Total Expenses: Gas : approx 700 pesos Food : approx 300 pesos Pasalubong: Secret. Baka maningil ang mga di nakapunta. Experience for riding the twisties : Priceless
Sama na kayo next time ha!! VP Angelo. Sked mo na!!
